Brief History

Yovel East Farmer's day 2024

Yovel East is a research and development company established in 2010. We are heavily engaged in R&D and have collaborated with various government institutions and private sectors. Yovel East has developed systems and technologies such as Farm Plan Apps, Agri Monitoring Systems, customized fertilizers, and nutrients. The company also developed its own Coconut Climbing Machine in partnership with Dept of Science and Technology (DOST) and now patented under Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL). This innovation is now in the process of commercialization to help more coconut farmers.

Beyond systems and technologies, we have successfully developed an all-inclusive agricultural model that consolidates and clusters farmers. We are now supporting more than 15,000 farmers in Southern and Central Luzon cultivating rice, corn, and high-value crops. Seventy hectares (70) of Lakatan banana farm in Davao City, and currently, we are considered as one of the bigger grower of Durian in Davao Region with thousands of Durian Trees consolidated under our portfolio. Yovel also serve as consultants to multiple farmers’ cooperatives and associations nationwide, representing over 70,000 members.

Yovel East provides assistance to its farmers from seeds, fertilizers, technical guidance, machinery needs and labor support. We also buy-back and help in marketing our farmers produce.

With such a feat, Yovel have been invited to serve as an adviser and consultant to numerous agri business and organizations, microfinance institutions and agricultural cooperatives and associations across the country.

To securely address and protect our farmers produce, Yovel now also engaged in Agri Processing. Currently, Yovel is operating Rice Processing Centers in Northern and Southern Luzon and expanding and building more warehouses and drying facilities for Rice, corn and high value crops.

Yovel East Durian Farms

To secure the harvest of Yovel’s Durian farmers, Yovel also is in the process of erecting a warehouse facility for fresh and processed durian to minimized the waste and assure of a consistent market for our farmers. As the demand grew, Yovel has now sealed the deal with a Malaysian company to jointly put up 500-1000 hectares of Musang King Durian farms in the Philippines. This will bolster Durian produced in the country and bring the best practices, technology and investment for the country.

Yovel East continues to expand its reach and strengthen its commitment to supporting farmers through research, technology, and direct assistance. By developing innovative solutions, building strong partnerships, and investing in sustainable agricultural practices, we aim to create a lasting impact in the industry. We only charge $\text{8\%}$, while others charge $\text{10-12\%}$ harvester share from the total amount of harvest.

While others have a production cost of $\text{P60,000-P80,000}$ per hectare per harvest for rice, we were able to **lower the cost of farming** to $\text{P45,000-P50,000}$ per hectare per harvest.

3. Buy Back Policy and Campaign

We **buy back the wet palay and Corn** and dry them at a protected price to secure our farmers.
